The textile and garment industry has a very important position in Poland. According to the Polish Textile and Apparel Association, in 2010, Poland's textile and apparel turnover reached 10.8 billion euros (including textiles 7.1 billion, clothing 3.7 billion), of which exports amounted to 9.7 billion euros, while imports amounted to 11.6 billion euros.

In 2010, the EU exported textiles and clothing to Poland for 5.6 billion euros; Germany is still Poland's largest textile and apparel trading partner, and German HUGO BOSS and BETTY BARCLAY products account for a large proportion of the Polish sales market.

Poland has a huge demand for fabric textiles. The main suppliers are Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, South Korea and China.

The Polish garment processing industry now has 46,000 businesses, 90% of which are private companies, and there are more than 700 employees with more than 50 employees.

Although the Polish clothing industry is still fragmented, even the largest producers account for only a few percent of the market, but the industry plays a pivotal role in the entire Polish economy.

According to the statistics of the important statistical offices of Poland, the annual growth rate of textile and clothing consumption in Poland exceeds 5%, and the per capita expenditure on clothing and footwear is 7% of income.

Every year, 2-3 textile and clothing exhibitions are held in Poland to attract foreign businessmen.

The most famous of these is the Poznan International Textile and Apparel Exhibition organized by Poznan Exhibition Co., Ltd.

The exhibition is the largest textile industry exhibition in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. It was founded in 1992 and is held twice a year in spring and autumn.

In the spring of 2014, the Poznan Textile and Apparel Fair and the footwear and leather fairs and textile machinery exhibitions held in the same period used the three largest pavilions.

The total exhibition area is 27,000 square meters.

The exhibition attracted 540 companies from 25 countries and regions including China, Russia, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy, with more than 6,000 professional visitors.
