Milan International Fabric Exhibition, Italy

The INTERTEX MILANO International Fabrics Purchasing Exhibition in Milan, Italy was established in September 2001. It has been held twice a year. Since 2004, the exhibition has also established the READY TO SHOW International Apparel Sourcing Exhibition, which was held in the same place as the INTERTEX MILANO exhibition.

The exhibition center is located in the Milan fashion show gathering area, which is home to a number of branded clothing headquarters and exhibition studios. The exhibition is an international sourcing exhibition open to Italian textile and apparel companies. Since the exhibition in September 2016, I will be the general agent of the exhibition in China and Southeast Asia, responsible for the exhibition.

The total area of the exhibition is about 3,000 square meters. The exhibitors are mainly from Italy, China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey and other countries.

Each year, there are 1,500-2,000 visitors, including wholesalers, importers, agents, department stores in the textile and garment industry, as well as international brands and designers looking for manufacturers. Although the scale of the exhibition and the number of merchants are not many, but because there are no other clothing exhibitions in Italy that accept Chinese companies to participate in the exhibition, the buyers are highly motivated, professional, quality and likely to be traded.

The exhibition began in September 2001 and is held twice a year. It is held in conjunction with the famous Italian fabric exhibition MODA IN (open to European exhibitors only) and is the only textile trade fair in Italy for fabric suppliers outside the EU. In February 2005, the 7th INTERTEX MILANO attracted 200 exhibitors from 25 countries, including China, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Taiwan, South Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Romania and other countries and regions. 3,988 visitors were present, an increase of 18% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, 2,780 Italian merchants, an increase of 17%; international buyers 1,208, an increase of 20%, from 75 countries, including European countries from Greece, France, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey and so on.

Merchants from the apparel industry and knitting manufacturers (33%), importers/general agents (5 percent), regional agents (10 percent), textile manufacturers (12 percent), designers (percent 10), wholesalers (9 percent), retailers (9 percent), etc. Popular fabrics include soy fiber fabrics, bamboo fiber fabrics, embroidered silk fabrics, hemp fabrics, cotton fabrics for shirts, and the like.
