Argentina Buenos Aires Textile and Apparel Home Textiles Exhibition

Argentina's International Textile and Apparel Textile Exhibition (emitex) and the concurrent exhibition of the International Textile Machinery Exhibition (SIMATEX) are the most important exhibitions in the Argentine textile industry and one of the largest textile machinery exhibitions in South America. The two-year year is the exhibition year.

China is the largest source of textile imports in Argentina. In the first three quarters of 2011, Argentina imported textiles for $1,046 million, and imports from China accounted for 30.3%.

Among the textiles imported from Argentina, fabrics and garments accounted for 41.6% and 28.3%, respectively, and yarn products and fiber products accounted for 16.2% and 7.4%, respectively.

The Argentine Institute of Industrial Economics released a report recently said that Argentina's clothing imports still maintained rapid growth. In 2011, Argentina's clothing imports increased by 54.1% compared with 2010.

The share of Chinese-made clothing in the Argentine market continued to expand. From January to July 2011, clothing imported from China accounted for 49.2% of total imports, compared with 46% in the same period in 2008.
